Malawi Armed Forces College FC (MAFCO) coach, Tione Mhone, has said his team will not be relegated in the TNM Super League, despite languishing on 15th position in the standings with 25 points.
He was saying this yesterday after a goalless draw against Mzuzu University FC (Mzuni), at Mzuzu Stadium, just after a one-nil loss to fellow military team Moyale Barracks.
Mhone said despite pressing so hard, they have lost the match, but still hopes the last three games will be so easy for them since they will play at home.
“We have played well, we pressed so hard to win it, but we have missed so many goal scoring opportunities. But that’s God’s plan. We are remaining with 3 games and we will play at home. But the games we are remaining with we feel are not tough for us,” he said.
In their last three games MAFCO will host Tigers, Kamuzu Barracks and Be Forward Wanderers.
He added that: “our remaining three teams rely on referees to win. But as MAFCO believe me or not, we will win all the games, because we don’t lose games at Chitowe Stadium. We will collect 9 points and our fans should expect that. We will work hard and remain in the league.”
Meanwhile, the draw has moved Mzuni from the 9th position to 7th with 35 points, and they are remaining with two games to wrap up the season.
