The team, under Red Lions coach Stereo Gondwe, will leave today for Copa Dar es Salaam beach soccer tournament which according to Football Association of Malawi page will start tomorrow.
The tournament lasts for two days, and it will start on the 22nd and end on 24th this month.
The team was camping in Karonga since 17th this month in preparations for the tournament which will be hosted by Tanzania for the second time ever after a debut in December last year.
The team will leave for Mbeya today where they will connect to Dar es Salaam by plane in readiness for the tournament.
During last year’s competition, Malawi finished second in the competition which was won by Zanzibar after a 3-2 final match win at Coco Beach, Dar es Salaam.

Hosts Tanzania finished third in last year’s tourney while Uganda anchored the group, after a 5-4 defeat.
The tournament is supported by the Tanzania Football Association and comprises.
In this year’s competition, hosts Tanzania, Malawi, Seychelles and Uganda have been confirmed as the teams to take part in this year’s competition, while it remains to be seen if Madagascar, who have also shown interest, will make it to the tournament.
The following is the Malawi team which will take part in the competition: Benson Genasi (from Livingstonia Beach Hotel), Sammy Chilamba (Livingstonia Beach Hotel), Hyper Matola (Munali Beach Soccer), James Chikoka (Ministry of Tourism Beach Soccer), Zahiri Hamisi (Ministry of Tourism Beach Soccer), Chikumbutso Sharpman (Ministry of Tourism Beach Soccer), Darlington Banda (Ministry of Tourism Beach Soccer), Ganizani Mphande (Beach Eagles), Isaac Kajamo (Nkopola Beach Soccer), Leornard Makumba (Mangochi Escom), Vanasio Malunga (MDF Marine) and Abdul Aziz Gaza (Nyasa Beach Soccer).
The coaching panel will be chaired by Stereo Gondwe with Edwin Ntachi acting as the assistant coach and Willie Kumilambe as the Team Manager.
