A man in Kenya has hanged himself yesterday after losing a bet in a match between European teams, Juventus and Manchester United in a second leg of UEFA Champions League, played on Wednesday, 7 November, 2018.
According to Kenya Daily news, the man described as Musyoka from Mulongo village, was a very big fan of betting and before his demise, his money, sourced in bets for about a month in the business accumulated to 15,000 Kenyan shillings which is about MK107, 000 when converted to our local currency.
It is believed that on Wednesday, Musyoka invested the whole Ksh 15, 000 to bet for the game, with all hopes that Juventus was going to win the home match.
He deposited the money for the bet in which he was expecting to top up to about Ksh 28, 000 in the next morning, 8 November, 2018.
As per the report, it shows that he did not even watch the match, instead he went home and slept, and in the morning (yesterday) at around 5 am, he woke up to check for a congratulatory message for winning the cash.
He took his phone to check for the message but did not find it, and tried to restart it hoping that there was a certain problem with the phone, but the effort proved futile again.
The next thing he did was to check the result of the game online, in which he found out that Man UTD won the match by 2 goals to 1.
The result shocked him and out of anxiety, he took a robe and hanged himself on a tree.
