Silver Strikers Head Coach, Lovemore Fazili, has said his team is geared for CAF Confederations Cup, and boldly claimed the only difference in the competition with the local competition are nothing but the trips.

This will be the second time Silver is competing in the international showpiece, whose draw is yet to be confirmed this week, after being delayed last week on Saturday.

When asked about the motivation Silver board is giving to the players, he confidently said that the motivation given to the players ahead of the competition is equally the same as what is given in preparation of local games.

“Same motivation we normally give to them when we are preparing for any other local competition, the only difference in the CAF competitions is the international traveling,” the coach timidly said.

The team’s local rival, Nyasa Big Bullets also registered for the competition, in CAF Champions league, and are expected to leave the country next week for friendly matches in Tanzania.

However, Fazili’s side is yet to make a decision on the teams to play as part of the preparations of the competition.

“It is obvious that plans are there to play an international friendly, but I can’t say which teams at the moment because the fixture is not known yet,” Fazili told Malawi Sports.

The Central Bankers will be the next team in line to participate in the competition after Masters Security FC took part last season.

Commenting on lessons learnt on Masters’ last time performance the coach said: “Whatever happened to Master is now water under the bridge, but good planning is very important in all competitions, either locally or intentionally.”
