Malawi National Team (Flames) is on its way to Comoros Islands for a group B Africa Cup of Nations qualifier match, after spending a night in Ethiopia whilst waiting for other foreign based players.
The team left home yesterday through Chileka Airport in Blantyre, and will play Comoros on Saturday, 17 November, 2018, with hopes to reignite their chances of qualification by beating the inform hosts who have had an impressive run of games so far.
Both teams drew their last games, and the hosts were unlucky to have conceded a goal in the dying minutes in their last home game against Morocco, which ended in a 2-2 draw.
According to a statement on FAM page, the expected players have joined the squad, and the journey which was slated for 9 am, is underway.
“It’s now full house.”
“Mozambique based duo of goal keeper Charles Swini and midfielder, Frank Banda as well as Japan based striker, Jabulani Linje, have finally joined the Flames squad in Ethiopia,” it states.
