Flames arrived yesterday in the afternoon in Comoros Island at the countries capital Moron, and had their first light training at Stade de Maroni, after a little rest, at 17:20 Malawian time.
According to Football Association page, the team is lodging at Golden Tulip and the stadium they did the practices on is covered with artificial turf, like our local pitch, Kamuzu Stadium.
As per the post, Flames coach Ronny Van Geneugden, said he is satisfied with the atmosphere in Moroni.
“The reception by the FA from the airport all the way to our training session was excellent. The hotel is good.
“The pitch is small more like our Chiwembe pitch. The artificial turf is also perfect for us as we are used to it. We are ready for the match,” said the coach.
Flames are third in group B with 4 points from 4 games, and are trailing with group leaders Cameroon with 4 points, and will play their fifth game against 4th team in the group this Saturday on 17th November, 2018.
The game will also be played at the exact time they trained yesterday, at 17:20 hours, and we (Malawi) trail with an hour on time zone with them.
