Chitipa United coach, Robert Mzinza, has named the FISD Challenge Cup quarterfinal game against Nyasa Big Bullets mouthwatering, and hopes the game will prove if his youngsters are ready for the TNM Super League.
Chitipa will play against TNM Super League leaders, Bullets at Kamuzu Stadium, on 23 November, 2018.
Speaking in an interview with Malawi Sports, Chitipa United coach, Mzinza, said he expects an exciting match and also added that the game will act as a test to his youthful team.
“It’s a mouthwatering encounter, because playing a team like Bullets gives these younger and upcoming players pride to rub shoulders with the top notch team.
“It is the time for the boys to show that they are ready to play again in the Super League.
When asked of his perspective tactical view of the game since Bullets have missed out on two Cups this season, which led to the sacking of Rodgers Yassin and Elia Kananji, he said they [Bullets] are hunting for a double but is adamant his team is also hungry for more.
“They have missed out on a final and a semifinal this year and are inching for a double, but we also want to scale new heights this season and we would want to make a good statement about our intentions come next season,” he clarified.
Bullets have just arrived yesterday from Tanzania where they had two friendly games against JKU FC and Simba FC, as they are preparing for CAF Champions League. All games ended in 0-0 draws.
Meanwhile, the Chitipa based team is first in the Northern Region Football Association and Simso League, with 79 points in 33 games, and only need five points to win the league and get promoted in the top flight Super League, while Bullets have 61 points in 26 games.
