Arsenal striker, Alexander Lacazette has withdrawn from France call-up just two hours after being included in France squad to face Netherlands and Uruguay.
He was called up to replace injured Manchester United forward, Anthony Martial, who got injured during the weekend in Manchester derby.
Lacazette was initially left out in last week Thursday’s call up, when the 23-man shortlist was released.
According to Goal.com, it is reported that the 27 year Old’s rejection has been revealed following discussions between his country and club’s medical officials, as per France’s twitter statement.
“This decision was taken after an exchange between Dr. Franck Le Gall and his counterparts at Arsenal,” part of the statement read.
He has been replaced by Borussia Monchengladbach forward Alassane Plea, who has scored eight goals in 11 Bundesliga appearances this season, including a hat-trick during the weekend win over Werder Bremen.
Meanwhile, Manchester United midfielder, Paul Pogba and Manchester City defender, Benjamin Mendy, have also withdrawn through injury and have been replaced with Tottenham’s Moussa Sissoko and Lyon full-back Ferland Mendy, respectively.
