Masters Security players will share MK9 million from the MK12 million prize money for winning this year’s Carlsburg Cup over Be Forward Wanderers last week on Saturday.
The share represents 75 percent of the prize money.
As quoted on Times Group website, the team’s owner Alfred Gangata says the players need to share a big portion of the money for the job well done after working hard to defeat Wanderers to win the Cup.
“We need to honour the players for this historic success. Winning a cup after defeating Wanderers in the final and knocking out defending champions Nyasa Big Bullets in the semifinal is not a fluke. So the players need to be rewarded generously,” Gangata said.
Masters will again play Wanderers tomorrow at Kamuzu Stadium in the FISD CUP, just 2 days after the Carlsburg Cup triumph over them.
Gangata also said winning trophies is their assignment into their second season in TNM Super League.
“This is our second season in the top flight league and winning a national trophy underlines our mission,” he said.
