Barely days to the closure of players’ transfer window following a break in the Super League, no major transfer has taken place since the opening of the market on July 30, 2018.
Football Association of Malawi (FAM) Competition and Transfer Manager, Casper Jangale on Monday said though no major transfer has taken place, they are looking forward to the closing day on August 16, 2018.
“As of now, no major transfer has taken place since the onset of the transfer market but it looks like things are happening in the background and we hope that major signings will be done by August 16,” said Jangale.
He further advised the team to strike a balance on acquiring and maintaining players within their teams.
Speaking on the sidelines of how teams are coping up with Domestic Transfer Matching System (DTMS) Super League of Malawi (SULOM) says it wants the transfer window which was opened for two weeks to use the electronic system only.
SULOM General Secretary, Williams Banda said the body is in the process of organizing a mid- season workshop to equip clubs on electronic player transfer system that was introduced last year which majority of clubs are finding it difficult to use.
“We have organized a workshop after noting that most of the teams’ Transfer Market Mangers were not utilizing the system,” said Banda.
FAM introduced the DTMS last year to be used by super league teams whenever they are transacting players on the domestic scene.
Banda said majority of the clubs in the super league are yet to embrace the technology, noting that they cited lack of knowledge on how to use the system.
