Emma Mzagada, former player for Malawi Netball Team has died yesterday at Queen Elizabeth Hospital after a short illness.
Malawi Sports Team has learnt that the former great player was diagnosed with a bone infection called Osteomyelitis which led to her passing on 30th July 2018.
Mzagada was one of the best players for the Malawi Queens and during her playing time, netball legend Mary Waya and the incumbent Malawi netball team Coach Griffin Zagalo Sayenda once described her as a true legend of the game.
She had stints with the national team and played a crucial role in the team during her time.
Upon hearing the sad news, Malawi’s netball export, Mwai Kumwenda expressed shock.
Kumwenda said Mzagada contributed a lot to Malawi’s netball and it was hard to accept that she is no more.
“Malawi Netball is well-known in the world due to the standards players such as Mzagada set in terms of performance. In fact, she is one of the top –players that inspired me to take netball as my favourite sport, “Kumwenda said.
