Defending Champions of TNM super league have on Sunday lost to Red Lions 1 to 0 in a match played at Mangochi Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Lions’ success was attained by a goal from Royal Bokosi which after it was just a matter of defending their goal as advised by their coach Stereo Gondwe who revealed of the tactics used in an interview after the match.
“I knew what kind of football they Wanderers would play today so I had to change the strategy and the system so as to get the win and you can see that we got a goal and defend it, we are happy that we have collected all the three points today,” said Gondwe.
The Lions’ coach continued to say that he will encourage his players to continue the good work as they are third on the standings and only six points away from the league leaders, Bullets who have 21 points from nine matches.
On the other side, Nomads’ team manager, Steven Maidera admitted his team did not perform well as the officiating personnel played a part in the loss.
“Sometimes, it is not good to comment on the officiation but let me say here that the officiation which I have seen today is the worst which I have seen in my life,” said Madeira.
The loss means the be forward wanderers are just a point away from relegation zone as they have won only two matches so far and are fifth from the bottom.
