Football Association of Malawi (FAM) has urged the general public to come out in large numbers and welcome the Malawi National Team (Under-20) at Chileka International Airport in the commercial capital Blantyre.
The team went to Angola where they beat the Under-20 side by 4 goals to 1 (aggregate 5-3) to book for a place in the next round of the 2019 CAF U20 qualifiers.
The team will meet South Africa in July 2018.
According to the statement signed FAM General Secretary Alfred Gift Gunda, the plane carrying the Under-20 side will land at 14:55 hours (2:55pm).
“The general public and members of the media are being invited to join FAM and the entire football family in welcoming the victorious boys,” reads in part the statement.
Meanwhile football analyst Charles Nyirenda has hailed the junior flames for overturning the tables.
