Malawi Professional Boxing Control Board to conduct training for male boxing managers in April

The Malawi Professional Boxing Control Board is to conduct training for male boxing managers this coming April.

Spokesperson for the association Frank Chibisa said this in an exclusive interview with face of Malawi.

He said they have decided to conduct the training after noting that male boxing managers are not well looked after than their female counter parts a development which has resulted to poor performance by male Malawian boxers at international competition.

“We are also looking for companies to help us to buy rings for boxers and so far Mulli Company Holdings has promised that they will help us to buy the rings,” he said.

He added that they also want that the prizing money to be increased to at least 1 million for the winner and 800,000 for the loser

The association has competed in so many international tournaments in Namibia, South Africa, Russia, Switzerland and Kosovo just to mention a few.

The association is affiliated to African Boxing Union(ABU) which is under the World Boxing Council whose headquarters is based in Mexico in the capital Mexico city.
