Chief dies after Silver’s offside goal against Bullets

Group village headman Lipulu of Traditional Authority Mchilamwera in Thyolo- an apparent ardent supporter of Nyasa Big Bullets-collapsed and died soon after Silver Strikers scored its offside-goal on Sunday.

The Group village-head was following the match, which was being played at Mulanje Park Stadium, through radio.

According to one Linos Phiri, who was in the same choir with the chief at Ndawa Parish of the Catholic Church, Chief Lipulu suffered what he suspects was High Blood Pressure soon after Silver Strikers scored a goal which was later declared offside by the match officials.

“After a church service, he rushed home to follow the Nyasa Big Bullet and Silver Strikers match. He collapsed soon after Silver Strikers scored their offside goal and was pronounced dead at Thyolo District Hospital,” said Phiri.

He said, family members have since collected the body of the fallen BB supporter for a burial scheduled to take place on Wednesday near Adororatta Tea Estate in Thyolo.

Nyasa Big Bullets lost the march 1-0 on goal aggregate and have been booted out of Airtel Top 8 trophy.
